Our Staff The staff of our preschool consists of a diverse, experienced group of dedicated lead teachers and their assistants. They are committed to making each child feel safe and secure — guiding them from dependence to independence. Director
Tania Ryan has been MHCP's Director for eighteen years. Prior to that she was the Director of the Lower School at St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School for ten years. She began her career as a kindergarten teacher. Assistant Director Allyson Hazzard has been the Assistant to the Director for three years and was a parent in our school community while her three girls attended the preschool. In a previous career, she was an oncology nurse at Children's Hospital in Washington, D.C. She is also an active member of the Old Presbyterian Meeting House church community. Two's Teacher Lyndsey Minett has been the Two's Teacher six years and has also worked with the Four/Five students in our Extended Day Program. She served a two-year term on the MHCP Board as the Teacher Representative. Three's Teachers Kathy Arthur has been the 2-Day and the 3-Day Three's Teacher for eighteen years. She is also runs the Extended Day Program and the Summer Program at St. Stephen's and St. Agnes. Susan Miller was a an Assistant Teacher in the Three's Class before becoming the 5-Day Three's Teacher. She has been involved at MHCP for five years since her children began attending the preschool. Pre-K Teachers Maura Foggin has been a staff member for three years. She began as an Assistant Teacher in the Pre-K class and taught the Extended Day class. She is currently the lead teacher in the Pre-K class and the lead teacher in Extended Day class. Courtney Lombardi has been a Pre-K Teacher at the Meeting House for eleven years. Prior to that, she taught at Alexandria Country Day as the Reading Resource Teacher. Jan Speakman first became a part of the MHCP community 21 years ago when her children began attending the school. She started teaching the Two's Class, then became the Three's Teacher and is now the Block Room Resource Teacher for the Pre-K Class. Music Teacher Amy Despres has been the music teacher at MHCP for five years. She also teaches Music Together classes for young children in Washington, D.C.
